Hear'Say

Wed and thurs. WORK! hehe...me idah ika and jannah currently working for NJRC(National Junior Robotic Competition) at science centre. While some people may say the pay is kinda low(is $5/hr low? i don't think it is that bad given that breakfast & lunch are provided compared to fast food and 7-eleven..right?). I just love working for science centre, no stress, no pressure, flexible, trust is there, upper people are friendly even tho we are temp staffs and most importantly the work is enjoying.


So practically, this week is about presentation week where students from schools have to present to the judges their robots and stuffs for some awards and our work is easy..to direct them to the judges room when its their turn. Its fun. We are in-charge of the secondary shcool students and man are they stubborn while some are friendly and funny. Wed, my station was the last to finish. Sad. And they dont deploy the remaining teams to other available station until the last moment when they realize my station's judge is taking too long to interview a team.


Thurs morning was fun too. Gotta work with this malay guy syamil. At first i saw him like goody-nerdy kinda guy but actually he's quite okay and funny. He's neither good-looking or bad but average i should say but when he smile, he look cute...hehe. Had few times laughing at our own stupidity and jokes when we were stationed together in the morning shift. Eventually i found out he's a genius - scoring A1 in maths - eligible for JC but opted for poly instead - scored A in engrg maths module in poly - bro was JC student and heading for NTU once NS is over. And when i tot he is just another typical guy, i found out he prayed too. Cos i was talking to him when syak(another malay guy which ika had a crush on..he's undeniably cute too ika..haha..but no worry he's all yours hahaha!) interrupted our conversation and ask syamil why he never see him when he was searching for him and syamil replied was he went to pray. Wahaha..my eyes lit! lol..


In the afternoon shift, syamil was a runner which means he sent teams to station before we the station master bring the team to the judges. And everytime he sent teams to my station he would give me this wide teasing smile cos he knew i was stress having many teams in my station cos at Brainstation, not only is the corridor space limited, nearby, there is an 'air cannon' experiment for visitors to try. We had to aim this so called cannon at this sliced sheet of paper(you know like the hari raya or chinese new year deco where the bottom part of the deco is sliced?) which is placed at a higher level. So the purpose is to bang this cannon as loud as we can for the air to travel to the sliced paper. If the paper moved means the wind from the cannon where we bang had reached the paper. So yeah...these students are so stubborn..they are all over the place, they donno the meaning of sitting down, noise level is uncontrollable, worst they keep banging the BLOODY CANNON!! The cannon is just in front of the door station where i was standing. I was hysterical. Hey its like irritating lah cos i had raised the volume of my walkie-talkie to max and i still cant hear people calling for me. And the time where i heard my walkie-talkie is when the upper people had lost patience cos they were calling for me and never get my reply and finally shouted BRAINSTATION! ahhaha..hey they should get down here and see how im functioning man. I had to deal with their noise, the cannon noise, the exhibition(tesla coil) noise, and take care of the people station at tinkerer's lab..i was practically all over the place myself and once, derrick saw me like a nut person cos my superior ask me to check how many teams are there in tinkerer's lab thru walkie but as i walkin towards the lab, my team was coming out of the judges room which means i have to be there to get the next team in and derrick was smiling. Thats the same smile syamile gave me..haha..i know..but i really cant stand the cannon noise. These students i tell you, if only i got a hammer and hit this cannon once and for all, i would! cos they are practically banging it approx 5-10x per person. ANd 1 team has 5 person. So 5 x10 =50times per team. If 20 teams?? gosh..until i couldnt stand it anymore, i actually scold them to stop banging and say there are people presenting inside altho the people inside can hardly hear anything outside hahaha! so when i shook my head and said no respect, they glum down and stop banging..hahaha...


and there how i work until to the last team. Perhaps It is God will that i was fated to meet my relative. It was the alst team ika sent me and while waiting for the second last team to finish their presentation, the team of 4 people actually stood up and trying out the experiment..CANNON duh! but lucky they are too lazy to bang as much as the other students. So after one two bang, they stopped. So while waiting, i ask one of the girl which school they are from, if somebody gonna fetch them home after this and talking about the judge telling them to cool down cos the judge is not that fierce only to hear this malay guy told this chn girl im talking to that im her auntie! OK WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT? haha..i cant recognise him..so i asked who are you...he said he is one of my cousin's son..the one cousin i had with a twin. Hahaha...so farnie right i could recognise him..and he after so long sitting and waiting and didnt even come to me whatsoever and told me only at the last minute haha..funny moment lah..we rarely talk..so he never acknowledge me as 'cik (name)' cos my family status are all over the place..i got a cousin as old as my auntie. And the sons and daughters are somewhat approx 10 years older than me but they are my niece and nephew in status and im their aunt.. confusing? Me too..lol. so i ask this nephew of mine to send regards to his family and he was like.."want to say what? auntie what?"..apparently asking for my name and i sure does feel awkward cos they all never really acknowledge me by name but apparently refer us as the KEMBAR(TWINS) here, kembar there, even though im the only person there kekeke...so that marks the end of the day.


watch result show after got home from work. FINALLY THAT FAKE IS OUT! JOAKIM IS OUT!!!! I HATE HIM MAN!! gosh..he really fake lar..he sings like he constipate..and his voice isnt that marvellous and people still wasting money to vote him just because he's cute...he got too proud easily especially when all the judges complimented him that he improved. But too bad boy...u improved at the moment you're fated to be out. hahaha.. and once alfie jokingly remarked that perhaps he got a job once joakim is out and sure he did. so alfie CONGRATS! haha..that gurmit was so irritating..keep going for break..until people lost patience. I almost cried cos paul and joakim was bottom two and knowing that joakim always got in, i just resigned to fate that paul gonna be out and joakim safe yet at the same time i didnt want paul to be out. Yes paul dont have that marvellicious voice either, he can go out anytime but not when he had to go out cos he sang when he wasnt feeling well, and he cant go out and lose out to joakim!! tats totally unfair cos given the stage performance and style, paul definitely had more substance. So i was covering my ears and i just tell myself that if paul gonna lose to joakim, im gonna cry ahrd and stop watchin SI but my anxiety went to relieve when paul is safe! wippee.......cool..no more worries..i pity nurul rahimah and mathilda who dont deserved to be ousted before joakim..joakim is the laughing stock of all times. Period.
