Gahhh...i feel so totally bored. And im foreseeing a more gloomy days ahead. For people like me who still stuck at home, yes maybe i should enjoy the free time before i finally land myself a job. But for those who were already working & attached, i can see their life evolving around work, and work, and MORE work and dates with bf. Eventually, as age adds on you, you start thinking of the money you need to keep for weddings, money aside for savings, for your house, for health, for bills and later on for children education. Urgh. How boring is that?

I can see myself slogging hard at work just to have enough money to keep up with our everyday living. When i was younger, i always thought why adults complain so much and i think im starting to feel IT. Once you start working & have a normal meet-ups with old friends, the same question will come knocking at you - when you getting married? how is your work? if your pay is enough? I dont mind if people asking merely just for updates. After all, we are friends right. But when they ask and start to comment on it, as if looking down at you, i cant accept it. And of course, as a friend, im also proud to those who made it well too. Then, when your kids grow up, questions will narrow down to - how many As your child got? if they are in top 10? If they are in express stream? If they made it to poly/uni? And what they are working as after graduation? Can you see the whole cycle starting again?

These kids prolly wouldnt know. That getting into express stream or normal acad/tech stream doesnt really matter. Ok fine. Maybe people do look down abit on the normal acad/tech students - I CANT BELIEVE THE STIGMA STILL EXIST! - But it is your life after that, thats what matters. It was an eye-opener & turning point for me when i entered ITE coming from an express stream. And having my sister to go straight to poly coming from a normal acad stream. I LOSE you see. And again, it doesnt matter whether you are going to ITE or Poly, because what you come out as is what REALLY matters. Some ITE opted for Poly and achieve better results in grades & workplace later on. Some poly students ended up mundane too. So people should start to change their perspective & parents should instill that no matter where you are and what you are, you can be a greater person. So bottomline, they may be bad now but achieve greater success later. And those who achieve success earlier doesnt mean it last you forever.

Anyway, the other time, i was watching a documentary, it strucked me. Why is it farmers in asia are generally labelled as low-class people? Whereas farmers in New Zealand are much respected people & rich thus are considered as high-class people? Even plumbers in US are respected. Because these people are workers with skills. Many times, we look down on them because to us, it is a dirty job. Just because we work in clean environment, our job is simple, we think we are great and have the higher form of classification.

I never felt it much then but im feeling it now. The life here in Singapore has become a more fast-phase environment compared to 10 years ago when i was in secondary school. Sometimes, it feels scary to imagine every day waking up early for work, then coming back home to rest & waking up again for work the next day and it goes on until you retired. Right? Whenever, my family went for holiday, or just have a great rest at the resort or hotel room, it feels totally different. Seriously. it feels as if, just for one day, you are able enjoy freely with no subject to work-related stuffs and other problems. There's this feeling of serenity & calmness overwhelming your body.

I wish i could be able to travel more in nearby countries just with friends. Chilling and just resting you know. But like i mentioned, the money itself will subject to other matters (refer to 1st paragraph).No pun intended. But if you could think for once, why do we always make money and then busy planning it for other things? It is important. I didnt say it wasnt. But when it comes to travelling, do you realize we always say 'we got no money' or "money not enough" or you already have set aside for something else? Again, no pun intended. My point is, travelling give us time to rest and set our mind at ease. When we come back, we come back refresh. It is like a therapy. Have you ever wonder? why do we always busy setting the money aside for other things but we are reluctant or perhaps never spend it just for yourself? We are reluctant to spend it on travelling when it can give us a break from this bustling city. I dont believe, you work for 1 year, you can't even set aside a small amt for a short holiday. If you set aside $50 or $100 in some months, you could prolly able to save up at least $1000 by end of the year. And travelling with friends actually save cost cos you prolly can share the hotel room price too. So i doubt we use it all the $1000. In fact, if we don't, we can save it. And thats another way to save too. So i dont know why people always make a big deal about that. Im not rich and i will decline long holidays and faraway trips. But im talking abt short trip here - something you COULD AND SHOULD BE ABLE to save.
